I find that I have been intending to blog everyday, but often don't make the time, as I mentioned in my previous post. I've thought about writing things down through out the day that I can whip into something and post later but, surprisingly, find myself without pen and paper when the muse strikes me. I'm also not actually on my computer very much and don't like typing on my kindle or phone. Plus, I have pictures for some things I want to write about, which means getting on the computer and getting them off my camera. Writing is certainly on my mind and in my heart and, though I'm doing more of it, in some ways, I can still see ways in which I can grow more and more into a writer.

Thanksgiving
A month or so ago, while on pinterest, I saw the thankfulness tree links popping up, again, reminding me that fall was coming and that meant Thanksgiving.
I became inspired and jotted down a story idea, which sat around for the following month or so, before I really looked at it again. Then, the other night, as I lay in bed, unable to sleep, I remembered it, I pulled out pen and paper and prayed for inspiration. Setting tip to surface, I began to write. The gentle breathing of my sleeping children and quiet whirring of the ceiling fan, created a calm atmosphere that I could actually focus in. Before I fell asleep, I had a story.
The next morning I shared it with my oldest blessing, who really liked it. With a little feedback from her, the story took a slight shift and is now, once again, sitting tucked away waiting for me to have a moment of inspiration. I already planned to wait on publishing this one until next year, to give myself more time in publishing it. After all, I still need the artwork done. However, it feels good to complete a project and I look forward to when this one is done.
One more story, finding it's way from inside my imagination to the world around me.

Making Time to Write
I have been writing stories, poems, songs, etc. since I can remember. My mom once told me, she remembers taking me grocery shopping when I was around 2 and I would sit in the cart making up songs about the things that I saw. Truth is, I've never stopped doing that. I just don't do it as publicly.
The other day, while going through my memory boxes, I found stuff I've written over the years. I need to make it a priority to go through those writings and play with them. Who knows what I might end up with. It isn't always easy for me to make time for my writing with all the other things I have on my plate. Although, the difference between a writer and a dreamer is the writing.
I had a voice recorder I'd gotten for Christmas, a couple of years ago, that I was using to record stories and songs I made up for my kids. The plan was to be able to take those recordings and capture the creativity. Unfortunately, my boys broke it. It did help, when it worked, though. Maybe someday I will be able to get another.
I often get side tracked by all the other things that need to be done. The house needs cleaning, people need clean clothes, we need to eat, the kids need attention and so does the husband, I need to rest, and so on and so forth.
When I do write, I love it. Especially when I can really focus on it. So many stories are waiting to be birthed and being a part of that process is a beautiful experience.

Hello
At the insistence of a fellow author, I've decided to add a writing section to my blog. A section, in which I intend to share my adventures in writing. From my journey to publishing, which I hope to try my hand at in the next month or so, in the form of self-publishing, to the inspirations behind the things I've written and everything in between.
So come along with me and see how it all works, or doesn't work, out.
